Salter Pilon Begins Work on Midland Bay Landing Development

Salter Pilon is proud to be a member of the development team for the Midland Bay Landing Development on the shores of beautiful Midland Bay. The signing of a Memorandum of Agreement, between the Town of Midland and Mountain Ridge Estates Development Inc., took place on March 20,2015 at the Town offices, giving the go-ahead for the initial stages of the project to take place.  Over the next few months, Salter Pilon will develop a Schematic Design and planning study of the site as a precursor to the Site Plan Application process. During that time we (together with Mountain Ridge Estates) will continue to collaborate with the Town and residents of Midland to ensure that the vision and goals of the community are realized.

Formerly known as the Unimin Lands, the 16.24 hectare Midland Bay Landing has approximately 1,100 metres of frontage on Midland Bay (with access to Georgian Bay) and is located near Downtown Midland.  The residential component of the mixed-use development will include medium density walk-up townhomes and condominium units along with higher density condominiums (with retail spaces at the promenade level).  All parking decks of the waterfront community will feature green roof courtyards above to reduce the carbon footprint of the development.  Additionally, the site development will incorporate a hotel with luxury suite accommodations and amenities.

Totaling approximately 25% of the site, public access design elements at the development will include a waterfront promenade (including a boardwalk and shoreline improvements), new docking facilities, public park areas, an amphitheatre, a splash pad and a central water feature which will double as an outdoor skating surface during the winter months.  Pedestrian connections and pathways will allow public access and connectivity throughout the complex between the promenade and adjacent neighbourhoods.
