Salter Pilon was awarded this community hospital project in 2012. As part of the Grey Bruce Health Services (GBHS), this small hospital serves a rural community along the shores of Lake Huron. The budget for this project is just over $10 million. GBHS is planning a 9,700 square foot redevelopment through the combination of renovated spaces and a new addition to the Emergency and Laboratory departments at the Southampton Hospital to greatly improve the quality of patient services, reduce wait times and provide suitable facilities to meet accessibility, safety, infection control, Ontario Lab Accreditation (OLA) and confidentiality standards. The Stage 4.1 Contract Document submission was made to the MOHLTC at the end of February 2015 and we are expecting to move forward with the Stage 4.2 Tendering by the start of summer. Construction completion is expected early in 2017.
