Alison was inspired to enter the architecture and design industry growing up in a family environment immersed in Architecture and Interior Design. Millet Salter, her father and the founder of Salter Pilon Architecture, and her mother, an interior furnishings retailer, encouraged her to pursue her passion of design. Graduating from Interior Design at Fanshawe College in 1984, Alison brings over 30 years of design experience to the projects she is involved in.
As a Registered Interior Designer with ARIDO and a LEED accredited professional (Interior Design + Construction specialty), she has contributed to a diverse range of projects and building types. Most notably she has been part of the design team on Victoria Village, Georgian Manor and Sheridan Villa. Alison specializes in Long Term Care Facility Design and is acutely aware of the impact design has on the health and well being of end users.
Alison has caring relationship skills, which allow her to collaborate with and interpret clients’ needs to realize their vision. She takes great pride in creating interiors, which are striking, functional and contribute positively to the built environment. Alison takes pride in understanding and working with a client to achieve well developed spaces. She is consciously active over the life of a Long Term Care project and ensures a design of comfort is achieved. Striving to design spaces that accentuate the feeling of comfort and tranquility, giving the users a feeling of their own home is of the utmost importance to Alison.
