As a talented Technologist, you should exhibit exemplary technical ability with a thorough understanding of modern architectural design practices including drafting technology and construction methods, along with excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to take initiative, and to prioritize daily tasks to meet tight deadlines. You will be pivotal in delivering design excellence with high quality and technical skill for diverse outcomes.

Requirements for the Role
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience with institutional building design in Ontario. A specific focus on Educational, Healthcare, Recreation Centres, Multi-Use Residential and First Responder Facilities is an asset
- Diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent Bachelor’s degree
- Solid understanding of building systems, construction procedures, OBC with a focus on Part 3 buildings, city by-laws and/or regulations as required
- Sound understanding of architectural contract administration process
- Ability to analyze pros and cons of various building materials, and design features
- Technical knowledge of Part 3 construction
- Ability to create architectural drawings sets in Revit
- Proven ability to work independently and cooperatively with other staff members
- Thorough understanding of the Ontario Building Code
- Proven ability of complex consultant coordination and leading the development of contract document process for tendering
- Technical knowledge to prepare and submit; re-zoning, site plan, building permit, Ministries and other authority submission packages
- Experience supporting contract administrators during construction, with site construction administration and general review
- Experience with different project delivery methods such as Stipulated Sum, Construction Management and Design Build
- Strong understanding of project schedules and ensuring all team members are aware and execute a project within set schedule milestones

- You are organized and energic, with epic time management skills
- Maintain proficient skills in latest versions of Revit and BIM 360
- Being a Registered OASSS technologist is an asset
- Carry strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possess a valid class G drivers’ licence with access to a personal vehicle
- Highly motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Have high level of detail design, excellent presentation skills and able to produce drawings through various stages of a project
- Have a friendly professional manner with confidence to work with all people, disciplines and levels
