A New Chapter for North Oakville

Anchored at 4075 Sixth Line, Oakville Fire Station 9 marks a new chapter in the Town’s growing northern community. Designed as both a civic statement and an operational hub, the station strengthens Oakville’s commitment to preparedness, sustainability, and community well-being. Its presence along this emerging corridor symbolizes foresight—establishing permanent fire protection infrastructure that grows alongside the neighbourhoods it serves.

The two-storey, 14,770 sq. ft. facility hasbeen developed through close collaboration between the Town’s ProjectManagement team and Oakville Fire Services, shaped by bi-weekly coordinationand a shared focus on performance and longevity. The result is a station thatintegrates operational efficiency, civic identity, and architectural restraintwithin a forward-looking framework.

Functional Design and Program
Purpose-built for two full fire crews and two captains, the station includestwo double drive-through apparatus bays and a third reserve bay, with SCBA,compressor, decontamination, and work areas supporting readiness and safety.The crew zone features seven dorm rooms, two captain’s rooms, and a centraltraining and lounge area—spaces that reflect Oakville’s commitment to wellness,inclusivity, and standardized design for future stations.

The second level houses the Fire Prevention& Safety Division, including offices for both Deputy Fire Chiefs, openworkstations, meeting and boardrooms, and a quiet room. This consolidationbrings suppression and prevention teams together under one roof, improvingcollaboration and community service delivery.

Architectural and Sustainable Design
Targeting LEED Silver certification and achieving a TEDI value of 47.5 kWh/m²,the design incorporates increased insulation, high-efficiency HVAC systems,electrification, and BAS control. Brick masonry and wood-slat cladding balancedurability and warmth, while red apparatus doors maintain a proud connection tofirefighting tradition.

Delivered under a CCDC 2 Stipulated Summodel, Fire Station 9 is designed with care, engineered for resilience, andbuilt to serve generations of Oakville residents with pride and precision.
