She has staggered custom acoustic ceiling tile at specific measured distances and angles of a fireman’s ladder, and mimicked epic Canadian geography in a cocktail bar that is expressed in carved metal, reflective wall coverings, glass mosaic, rich quartz surfaces, and cascading strands of metallic beads. There is true magic to be discovered in her unwavering commitment to precision and ingenuity.
Joining Salter Pilon in 2007 as a key member of the design team for the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre Redevelopment, Julie has an illustrious career as a Registered ARIDO Interior Designer spanning nearly 4 decades, following her 1998 Ryerson University Bachelor of Applied Arts in Interior Design. As a LEED accredited professional, she is acutely aware of the impact design has on the health and wellbeing of the end user. Her contributions have implemented biophilic environments that feature natural materials and exuberant light sources, honoured community influences to apply sustainable initiatives in public facilities and leveraged the carbon retention qualities of mass timer.
With exquisite curations in her portfolio, Julie also has the innate ability to interpret criteria with mindful budget consciousness, rising to the challenge of achieving stunning interiors for occupants with sensitivity to all the client’s project boundaries. This process is managed through purposeful collaboration and innovative embellishment solutions, a strenuous undertaking she initiates with the project stakeholders and multidisciplinary team to drive comprehensive design cohesion.
