The Northern Lights Bar is a defining feature within the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto—a visual landmark and gathering point that captures the energy and movement of Canada’s northern skies. Positioned between the grand hotel lobby and the expansive gaming floor, the venue serves as both a focal destination and a transition space that unites the resort’s hospitality and entertainment experiences.

Drawing inspiration from the aurora borealis, the bar’s design explores light, reflection, and motion through an immersive palette of layered materials. A sweeping bulkhead clad in a luminous digital mural forms the architectural centrepiece. The mural’s abstract imagery, set against a mylar background, refracts ambient light to evoke shifting waves of colour and atmospheric depth.
The interior continues this theme through tones of blue, silver, and metallic neutrals expressed in glass mosaic, carved metal, and reflective surfaces. Programmable RGB lighting transforms the environment throughout the day, animating textures and emphasizing the kinetic qualities of the space.

At its core, the bar is anchored by sculpted millwork featuring fluted aluminium panels and a radiant blue quartz countertop. Overhead, an ovoid cove ceiling and cascading silver ball chain curtains diffuse light across the room, creating a sense of fluid movement. Distinct lighting zones define the two experiences within: a softly illuminated lounge facing the hotel lobby and a more dynamic, performance-oriented area open to the gaming floor.
The Northern Lights Bar exemplifies the design vision of the resort—bold, contemporary, and distinctly Canadian—inviting guests to pause, gather, and experience the artistry of light within an unforgettable setting.
